Frontstrap and Mainspring Housing Treatments

    Checkering from my shop is laid out by machine, and then pointed-up by hand. Each individual row is brought precisely to a point. The high-cut relief is carefully filed and sanded to make the checkering “stand proud” of the frontstrap, resulting in maximum traction and eye-pleasing aesthetics. The checkering can be laid out with or without a bottom uncheckered border.

Mainspring Housing Checkering

    Mainspring housing checkering is laid out the same way as a checkered frontstrap, and brought to its finished state by hand.  The prices below include a supplied smooth Ed Brown Mainspring housing, fitted to the frame, and checkered.
